Some idle post

The reading week has passed. Just want to rattle somethings that happen for this week. Liverpool won Barcelona by 2-1 and they win it on Barcelona's home ground. Sweet! Let's hope they maintain the current momentum and ousted Barcelona out of the game.

Realised that I have been growing fat...thanks to the winter? Nevertheless I hope that warmer weather will come soon (maybe late March or April) so that I can play some soccer. Helps to burn off some of those fat.

Went for a hair-cut this afternoon. Now with shorter hair, I realised I have grown more white hair. It seems that when I am having long hair, they are covered up and so I did not notice them. Sigh.....getting old.

Chinese New Year and one week break

It's the time of the year. This is the second time I am spending the new year in Canada. There are good and bad points about this. The good point is you will save all the hassle of visiting all the relatives who you barely know and only see once a year. The bad thing is I cannot collect ang bao $$$ :(

Next week is reading week for Mcmaster University, so that means no lessons for the coming week. The reading week is supposed for the students to use for "reading" but come on, let's not kid oneself that one will really be spending the week entirely (or if any) on reading. Anyway for me, it just means I will be cooped in my living place for a the whole week. Let's just hope I won't get slack too much during the week.

Something on soup making.

Have been trying my hands on making soup for the past few months. So far, the only three kind of soups I have made are carrot and potato soup, maize soup and chicken soup. The results have been quite satisfactually except though the chicken soup needs to be worked on. Out of the two attempts on the chicken soup, the first one was slightly better than the second. Anyway one standard component I had for all the soup is red onions (ya there are white onions and green onions or something like that not sure what's the correct technical name), although I have not try out using the green ones but the white ones can't seem to give the results as good as the red ones. Oh well, just something to be worked out I guess...

PS : The next soup (other than improving on the one above) I had in mind is ox-tail soup. I found a place where they sell ox-tails. Maybe I should really get my hands onto these. Ox-tail soup in winter....hahahahaha
