Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Ending Theme: Why, or why not (lyrics)

To get my happiness I had done everything
But had done nothing to be blamed and accused of
The sound of footsteps became louder every day
Then I noticed the fact there was no time

I was a believer in life to be myself always
And was asking whether I would be alive

Give me a reason why not to adopt in this way
Or judge me to be guilty of so many incurable sins
Tell me why, or why not
Complaining way too much
maybe I overlooked something fatal for me

The whole world was at a complete standstill
And I was in fetters at the mercy of the mob
The silent warning became louder every day
Then I kept pretending not to hear

Its meaning had been in the eyes of beholder all the along
It had grown dark before I found a sign

Among the nonsense tragedies, what on earth you are looking for?
You only have to be honest to yourself and your own fate
Tell me why, or why not
Complaining way too much
maybe I overlooked something fatal for me

There is nobody who knows
There will be nobody
Except for me, all the world has gone mad

So what is forgiveness you are willing to withhold?
What is the well-being you are willing to make?
Now what? So what? Don’t you come interrupt me
Oh please, while I am interrupting myself

Picnic and Internet failure

The department just had a picnic on Saturday. Basically it is pretty simple one, where you have some food, drinks and games, where at the same time you sort of interact and mingle around with the grad students and lecturers.

Internet is down for me (I am currently typing this in school). It fails since Friday and the technician will only come over on Wednesday. So sianz...cannot surf web...:(

Beginning of the new term

On Wednesday, there was an orientation meeting for all graduate students. The content of the meeting was on teaching and the graduate program. It seems that I had been assigned to grading works for two courses: Group Theory and Cryptography. For people who know me well enough, Group Theory is not a problem for me. It is the Cryptography that is bothering me. It seems that I am the only person that is available and know some elementary number theory, so I will have to do it. Maybe I can take this opportunity to learn something outside my area.

Basically that is almost all for this term. I will most probably not be doing any courses for this term. From the looks of things, it appears that I will have plenty of time to do my own reading. Hopefully I can at least learn something on schemes and sheaf (these topics belong to algebraic geometry) on top of the current readings (Iwasawa Theory) that I had and still on going.

I just had a game of soccer before this, so my mind is currently not in the state to do serious reading. Maybe I just read about what cryptography is all about and then play my computer games or have an early night.

Minesweeper personal new timing

Intermediate : 31 seconds
Expert : 146 seconds

Seriously I don't think I can improve any further on the beginner timing (4 seconds). But on the intermediate and expert level, I think I can still can shave of a few more seconds. :)
But still I don't regard myself very good in Minesweeper compare to the true experts.
