(*) repeat

Mentally exhausted

It is near Christmas. I had finished my exam markings and basically that means this term has come to an end for me. Looking back the past six months, I realized I have acquired knowledges of more things. However in the mist of learning, one also realizes that there are much more stuffs needed to be learned. I guess these are parts and parcels of the path of research. I think I am beginning to see light from the other end of the tunnel, although I hope that the light source comes from the exit point and not something else.

Starting to become a bit slacked on reading. The amount of materials I covered per day is getting less and I am getting more and more easily mentally exhausted. Maybe I should take it easy for a while. Hopefully this is just a case of being burned out rather than having anything to do with getting old :P

Liverpool will be up against Barcelona!

What a draw. The two champions of the last two years will be meeting up in the first knock-out stage. Hopefully Liverpool can pull this one off, because if they do, they will have a good chance to go all the way!

End of the term

Before I knew it, my Nov first post had become my Nov only post :P

Anyway it is the end of the term. The only thing left for me to do is marking for exam which is slightly less than two weeks from now. Marking is not too bad afterall (other than being tedious). I learn something from the students' work, although unfortunately most of the time it comes from students' mistake. I guess that what you call learning from (others') mistakes. Ok, that's a bad pun.

Currently I am reading on Hartshorne's Algebraic Geometry. This is an interesting book to read though hard to feel for the stuff at times. I am learning this in preparation for the learning Etale cohomology. Hopefully I will be well-versed enough to read something on that in January. Okay that will be the target.

Temperature is going down (near to 0 degree celsius) though still no sight of snow. Time to hold up and habilate in my room :P
