Beginning of the new term

On Wednesday, there was an orientation meeting for all graduate students. The content of the meeting was on teaching and the graduate program. It seems that I had been assigned to grading works for two courses: Group Theory and Cryptography. For people who know me well enough, Group Theory is not a problem for me. It is the Cryptography that is bothering me. It seems that I am the only person that is available and know some elementary number theory, so I will have to do it. Maybe I can take this opportunity to learn something outside my area.

Basically that is almost all for this term. I will most probably not be doing any courses for this term. From the looks of things, it appears that I will have plenty of time to do my own reading. Hopefully I can at least learn something on schemes and sheaf (these topics belong to algebraic geometry) on top of the current readings (Iwasawa Theory) that I had and still on going.

I just had a game of soccer before this, so my mind is currently not in the state to do serious reading. Maybe I just read about what cryptography is all about and then play my computer games or have an early night.
