Exam Passed!
I receive an e-mail around this afternoon, informing me that I have passed my qualifying exam. Hooray! Finally I clear this huddle. The only thing left is the oral exam.
Met one of the prof today and have a chat on my "future". It seems that I am correct. I still have tonnes of things (see my abstract nonsense post) to learn. Also I need to find a topic to work on and hopefully come out with some new results. Whew. The next four years will be a long and tough journey.
Played soccer in the evening. Looks like I still need to improve my stamina a bit more. I am not aiming to become very fit or aiming for IPPT gold (me IPPT gold? sure a not, pass also got problem). But I just hope to be more healthy, at the same time enjoying the game better. Anyway one thing is for sure: my soccer skills suck terribly :P

congrats on passing your QE, must have been the luck I brought you. dont worry, my luck will help you come up with your thesis too! so i hereby wish you very very very good luck!!!
Hey Congrats man, Oral Exam shouldn't be a problem for you. It seems your future is going to be very bright. It's always exiciting to know that there is still so much math to learn.
ya there is much math to learn.
Unfortunately, my knowledge is confined to the number theory direction, so I am not able to tell you on things like analysis or algebraic topology which you all may be more interested in.
